Title: Lukumi Inspired Drum Circle
Description: No prior musical experience necessary, just bring your own percussion instrument. If you don't have an instrument, we can provide one for you. We will be learning songs that one would hear at a guiro for the Orishas or Eggun. This is a great opportunity to learn the songs, meet people, and just have fun! Only $5.00 which goes towards room rental.
Please RSVP if you plan on showing up. The room size will depend on the headcount so please only RSVP if you can make it. Along with your RSVP, please include the type of percussion instrument you are bringing (ex. Djembe, Conga, Shekere, etc.)
Our first class was great! Our teacher is so patient and wonderful. The facilities are comfortable, clean and spacious. This is open to ALL PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE regardless of your belief. Although the songs we are learning are a tribute to our Orishas in the Lukumi religion, you do not have to be a Santero or even believe in our religion to participate as this is not a religious function.
